December 4th, Thai Environment Day
Every 4th of December of every year, following the royal speech of King Rama IX on 4th December
1989, which expressed concern about Thailand’s environmental problems and warned the people to cooperate in solving environmental problems seriously, with prudence, and to consider it a duty for everyone to carry out, not just for Thailand, but also for the survival and safety of the world. The Cabinet therefore designated December 4 of every year as Thai Environment Day so that everyone would see its importance and help conserve natural resources.
