Thailand is preparing to implement its Climate Change Act (Global Warming Act) in 2026, marking a major step toward a low-carbon society and supporting the national Net Zero 2050 goal.
🌱 Four key emerging career fields:
1️⃣ Corporate Sustainability Officers — driving organizational sustainability strategies
2️⃣ GHG Consultants & Analysts — advising on greenhouse gas reduction and reporting
3️⃣ Environmental Validators/Verifiers — auditing and verifying environmental reports
4️⃣ Carbon Credit Managers & Traders — managing and trading carbon credits in compliance markets
Currently, Thailand has a limited number of licensed professionals in this field: around 530 consultants and only 100 validators/verifiers nationwide.
To address this gap, the Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (GCC) has partnered with Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi and Rajamangala University of Technology Isan to develop degree and short-term programs focused on Carbon Footprint and Net Zero skills — aiming to produce over 300 trained professionals each year.
🎯 The ultimate goal: To build Thailand’s capacity for a Low-Carbon Society, positioning the nation for sustainable growth and global competitiveness in the green economy.
