The WMO (World Meteorological Organization) is an intergovernmental organization under the United Nations (UN). It was established in 1950, succeeding the International Meteorological Organization (IMO), which had been in existence since 1873. The WMO’s headquarters is located in Geneva, Switzerland, and it currently has over 193 member countries and territories. Thailand has been a member since the organization’s inception. 3. Promoting research and development in the fields of climate and climate change.
  4. Advising governments on managing risks associated with weather-related natural disasters.
  5. Supporting sustainable development by using climate and meteorological data to guide policymaking.
